What makes you feel Alive?

If you aren't stalking following LindsLovesMiles... you should be.
She has written several Top Ten posts that I think are pretty fabulous.
Her Top Ten Tuesday (that was posted on Monday) for this week is Top Ten Must Haves.
I don't think she could have been more head on in this post, especially with #10.
When I first started running again a little over a year ago I was a little all over the place with why I ran.
  •  I ran to be in shape.
  • I ran to say I was doing something.
  • I ran to lose weight.
  • I ran because people told me I couldn't.
  • I ran to get away from my day.
  • I ran to relax.
  • I ran so I could scarf down mexican food without having a super sized muffin top.
  • I ran because I got to hang out with my girls.
People tell me I'm crazy when I say I enjoy running. I could try to explain it, but I don't think anyone else can understand unless they actually enjoy it, too. When I read #10 in this post I knew it couldn't be more right for me.

I run because it makes me feel alive.
I might not run Boston Marathon qualifying times but something about being able to run, challenging myself and doing something to make ME feel better about me is EXACTLY what I need.
As much as I  HATE to admit this...I'm stuck in my rut of coming home, changing clothes, getting something to eat and spending the rest of the night on the couch watching TV.
If you don't believe me...ask my pants or my thighs.
Their relationship has gotten so close lately that they are suffocating each other.

The only way I know how to describe how I feel is...
BLAHHHH!

I know when the doctor tells me I can run again I will be beyond excited to be hitting the pavement. I just have to keep reminding my self that I'm not going to be starting off running 8:45/minute miles or popping off a good 7 mile run right off the bat. It's going to take work and patience, but I'll get back in to it. Especially with the help of these guys...
and all of y'all!!

I'm ready to have that one thing back that helps me feel alive.

Sorry for the cheesetastic post today.

Stupidity = OUCH.

My mom informed me yesterday that my blog has been really boring lately.
Since I haven't done much worth blogging about, and she's complaining, I'm forced to use this picture.
You can whoop me later, mom. : )
I'm desperate.
I'm sure you're proud.
Thanks mom and Happy Easter to you, too.

This long weekend was just what I needed!
Friday, I met up with friends for lunch at Jason's Deli.
I think I keep that place in business.
Then I came home, took a 3ish hour nap then watched movies the rest of the night.
Perfection.

I worked Saturday morning and since it was such a gorgeous day I decided to sit out in the back yard and read that afternoon.
Being the bright person that I am, I roasted my self.
Remember in my last post when I asked how you tan?
Well, I guess I decided to take the stupid route. I didn't realize how long I had been sitting out there. Obviously WAY to long. I promise the picture looks much worse than it is.
But still...OUCH!

Even Ellie thought it was hot outside so she grabbed her favorite turtle and layed down in the crater she dug.
Yes, there's a plastic bag in the dirt hole with her. We have had several days of 40+ mph winds lately, so there's no telling what will end up in my back yard. I also refuse to water right now.
I don't have an excuse for that other then I'm classy lazy like that.

For Easter I went with my parents and sister to see my GG.
When I got home I cleaned and did laundry. This meant I had to unpack my suitcase from the wedding.
Helloooo Danielle.
That was 2 weekends ago.
I Hate Unpacking.
But, I cracked my self up when I realized what shoes I had in the bag.
I was only there for one full day, but I didn't know what dress I was going to wear so I had to make sure I had shoes that would work.
Yes, all SEVEN are left shoes.
I'm sure the lucky TSA person who went through my bag thought I had issues.
They're probably right.

I finished up my relaxing weekend with my BFF's.

Happy Monday Y'all!!!

What is your "go-to" place for eating out?

Do you overpack?

If you could be bff with any reality star, who would it be?
I know she is crazy, but I LOVE Khloe Kardashian and how she always does her own thing.

Confession
I watched Audrina's new reality show. not just one episode, but THREE. These shows will never be as good as Laguna Beach. : )

Dreaming of Pool Days and Running.

I have been running around like a crazy person this week.
This MIGHT be what my desk looked like yesterday.
(Where's Waldo with the Sonic cup?)
Don't worry...it did NOT look like this when I left.
Walking in Monday morning to that mess would put me in a terrible mood for the day.

*5 weeks until my life consists of this...
And this...
Counting down the days!

Totally random...but more pictures from the wedding!
PTL for spray tans!!!

Hope YOU have a great weekend!!!

How do you tan???
99% of the time I'm pasty white or bright red from being sunburned. I guess that comes with being a redhead. I went for a spray tan before the wedding so I wouldn't blend in with the white walls.  Tanning beds AREN'T for me.

Three Things Thursday

1. Stephanie has me addicted to Adele.
Remember when I said I get one verse of a song stuck in my head and I sing it over and over?? Well, that's what I did today at school. In the middle of my first
"We could have had it all. Rolling in the Deep," and one of my kids said...
"Dang Ms. Wilson. You is WRONG for that."
Obviously they think music should have been the profession I chose.
 Thanks guys.

2. I love Rihanna's new song California King, but I liked it better with Jennifer Nettles.
3. I'm mentally exhausted. That's why I can't come up with anything better to blog about than 2 songs. Sorry guys. I PROMISE after TAKS next week I will be able to function on a somewhat normal level. I guess this is where I should appologize if I have commented on your blog and it sounded like I just typed random words that make no sense. I'm so out of it. Thank goodness for Good Friday and NO school!!!

12 days until I go back to the doctor. HECK YES.

I need some new tunes!
Tell me your new favorites so I can load up my itunes.

Do you have any weird ways you eat food?
I just found out Paula eats her Twix like I do...scraping everything off and saving the cookie for last. YUMM!

Obsessions & Bad Decisions

First of all -- Congrats to all you Boston Marathoners.
I don't think I could run fast enough in my dreams to qualify.
Y'all are ROCKSTARS.

I wasn't feeling so hot on Sunday, so I spent a lot of time laying on the couch, watching TV and looking at old pictures. While doing that I realized a couple of things...

1. Most of my pictures have a Sonic Drink or a Diet Coke can in the back ground.
Diet Coke used to be a HUGE problem. Sonic Tea still is. Oops.

2. I have made some awful decisions when it comes to my hair.
I randomly decided to dye my hair black.
Danielle + Short OR Black Hair = Eww.
I have NEVER seen my dad more mad at me then when I walked in the door with black hair. Now when I get frustrated about something he sarcastically says
"Why don't you just go dye your hair black. Maybe that will make you feel better."
Sometimes I think it's funny.
Sometimes I don't. : )

3. I have more pictures of my dogs than anyone else in my life.
(do you see the resemblance? ha.)
4. Sometimes life is rough...
5. I like numbered lists.
6. I'm completely stressed out of my mind with school stuff right now. If I make it through next Wednesday, I'll be on my way to a fabulous summer break!
7.

Deep thoughts. I know.

Steph @ TheAlmostRunner might not know it yet, but she's my new BFF.
You totally made my night last night! Thanks girl! : )

Ever had a hair experiment gone wrong?

When are you happiest??

Craziness and a Blog

22 days until I go back to the doctor.
I
CAN'T
WAIT
TO
RUN
.

I feel like I have been MIA lately.
I'm surprised my mom hasn't sent me a text asking why I haven't blogged.
Maybe no one even missed me?!? : )

1. I went to a wedding in Dallas this past weekend at Hilton Dallas/Rockwall Lakefront hotel at Lake Ray Hubbard.
Gorgeous, right?
2. It was nice to get away, relax by the pool and have so much fun!
Saturday morning on our way to McDonald's!
Me and the Maid of Honor!
(and my beast-like hand)
Brooke Sara me and Ashley
Brooke and me
Lanna and me.
I know you were dying to know what color my gum was, too.
Matt is such a ladies man.
PHOTO BOOTH!!!
This might have been my favorite part of the whole wedding. If Sara ever finds the other photo strips I'll post them.

3. A Surgical Supply Conference (or something like that) was going on at the hotel over the weekend, too.
Let me just tell you that the boot was one heck of a conversation starter with all the guys!!! : )

4. I have 7 1/2 school days until my kiddos take the TAKS. I might be a bit more of a mess than usual these next couple of weeks. I'm going to go ahead and apologize! SORRY!

5. I met Tara @ Dashing in Pearls my first year of teaching. We worked at the same school together for a while, but her life took her back to Houston. SAD! She just ran her first half marathon last weekend and did AWESOME!! If you don't follow her already, you should!

6. If you missed my post last night about Baron Batch, I'm going to remind you to check it out because I think it's that good.

One of the few blogs I read that DOESN'T have anything to with running is BARON BATCH. I blogged about him HERE about 6 months ago. Still obsessed.

Baron is doing wonderful things in his life and is an awesome example of a good person. He has written some pretty amazing posts lately that I wanted to share with y'all.
When Ripples Collide
"We are individual raindrops in a huge lake. Of course each of us has our own ripple, but our lives are primarily made up of other peoples ripples crashing into our own. Many people like to think that our ripples crash randomly into each other without purpose or reason. Maybe that’s true, but then again maybe it’s not true at all. Perhaps I can help you decide. Maybe this story is the result of many ripples just coincidentally crashing into each other. Or maybe each ripple was ordered, measured, weighed, named, and timed perfectly to synchronize with the others to save a life..."

My Story From 30,000 ft.
"You don’t have to become a victim to your situation. You can overcome it. Problems don't exist, only obstacles so hurdle them. This is what makes you strong. You will fall, and when you do get up because the world is still turning. Don't lay on the ground because few sincere hands will be extended. However, once a sincere and trusted hand is offered quickly grab it and never let go, because you cant do it on your own..."

7. In case you missed it...a dress, a boot and a flip flop are all stylish. Don't be jealous. I'll let you borrow my boot when I'm finished!

Do you have a countdown going for anything?

What is your favorite blog to read that is NOT food/fitness related?!?

What did you think about Baron's Blog?
