Happy Tuesday Friends!!!

Who's Counting?

NINE. nine. NiNe.
NINE days until I go back to the doctor.
NINE Mondays until SUMMER.
*Eight after today*
I got my scooter back this weekend.
Be ready for pictures! : )

Friday night Sara, Kristi and I went to Caprock Cafe to celebrate Sara's Birthday...AGAIN!
Yes, we dress alike, but it's not hard when both of our "go to color" is black.

I had to ask Sara if she would go with me to PetsMart to get dog food. What I was really asking was "Would you go to PetsMart with me and carry my dog food to the check out, to the car, and in to my house." I'm not good at asking for help, but if my dogs are anything like their momma...they turn in to raging monsters when they haven't had anything to eat. I don't think anyone wants to see that.
THANK YOU SARA!!!

Saturday was one of my FAVORITE days in a while.
TEXAS TECH SPRING FOOTBALL GAME!
Basketball season is almost over, so I just have to wait patiently until football season starts in August.

The other day I asked  you guys about ways I can get a good workout in. Well, I think I found one. We parked across the street from the stadium and I was super excited thinking I didn't have too far to crutch.
WRONG.
That side of the stadium was closed so I had to go all the way around to the other side. On a regular day, this walk would be nothing. In 80 degrees and on crutches, it kicked my butt. Once we got in the stadium the only seats were up top. SCORE. I don't think there's any good, ladylike was to crutch up, so I handed my crutches to Caleb, Beth's husband, and hopped on my good foot up the stairs to my seat. Poor Caleb...I heard a man yell "HELP HER" at him. I'm not exactly sure how he was supposed to help me, but I wasn't about to ask for it.
Talk about raising my heart rate.
By the time I got to my seat I was sweating, out of breath, and ready for a nap.
After the game and crutching back to my car, my arms shook for about 30 minutes.
I.was.that.tired.
Before too long I'm going to be sending you guys invitations to my gun show.
Or not.
My friends DID say I was good for something since traffic would stop to let us through since they felt sorry for the girl on crutches. What good friends I have.
Even though it completely wore me out, it was about as close to a workout as I'm going to get right now so I'll take it!

We also tried Red Mango.
"At Red Mango, we know a healthy lifestyle and a healthy diet go hand in hand. That's why we're proud to tell you about all the good things we're made of, starting with the most important part of any self-respecting yogurt: live and active cultures."

Red Mango is all about the probiotics stuff.
I would take Spoonful or A Cup of You over Red Mango any day.
I had a lemonade while these two chowed down on their "live and active cultures".

How was your weekend?
Pretty fabulous. Not ready for it to end!

Would you have laughed at me if I fell while hopping up the stairs?
My friends said they would laugh FIRST then ask if they could help me.
 They.are.keepers.

Are you good at asking for help?
Most of the time...NO. I try to do it myself before asking for help. Sometimes it comes back to haunt me.

fill.in.the.blank.friday.

Thanks Lauren @ thelittlethingswedo

1. My most prized possession is my garmin. Dumb, I know, but it was my first BIG GIRL purchase! But, really...I would probably have to say the canvases in my house. I have 2 that my sister painted for me (She's very artistic. I'm artistically challenged), and a canvas that my dad painted painted for me when I was in high school. None of them are anything fancy shmancy, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of them because of who made them for me.

2. If I could be one age for the rest of my life, I would want to be in my 20's. I have great friends, a great job, and my relationship with my parents is the best it has been before I learned how to have a smart mouth. I can support myself and make my own choices, and for the most part I'm pretty dang happy.

3. The best way to spend a weekend is with fun, food and friends. And, sometimes doing absolutely nothing.

4. My outlook on life is that...You make the choices on how you want to live. You may be dealt cards that aren't exactly what you wanted, but it's up to you on how you deal with it. A good friend told me that "it can't rain forever...that I'm sure of" and I totally believe it.

5. If you want to annoy me, talk trash to me about Duke losing last night. :)Seriously, lately I have been annoyed with...um...I can't really think of anything right now unless I copy Lauren's answer and go with Facebook. I did a clean-up a few days ago and deleted about 50 people. Most of those were people that I had met once or twice and never talked to again. I also hid about 50 people from my news feed. I'm sorry that your baby daddy has upset you, your job sucks because you stay in trouble for showing up late and not getting your work taken care of, or you don't have a car because you are paying fines for getting busted with pot. I'm sure it sucks, but why are you putting it out for everyone to see? Some things are better kept to yourself friends.

6. I am completely defenseless when it comes to Mexican food. I don't think I have ever refused it. It's my weakness.

7. When dressing for the day one should put on whatever makes you feel good about yourself. Some mornings I put on something that I usually LOVE to wear, but for some reason that day I don't feel good in it. I think how you feel about what you're wearing makes a huge impact on your attitude for the day.

Happy Friday, Friends!

Am I a bad person for deleting and hiding people on Facebook?

What's your outlook on life?

What annoys you?

Three Things Thursday

What I miss about running....

1. I miss the high after a long, tough run. Even with sweat in my eyes, burning calves and the need to suck down a water bottle (or six) it was SO worth it.

2. I miss my running buddies! I work with most of them so I see them every day, but it's different seeing them AT school and OUT of school. We would usually talk the first few minutes of our run, but after that we were pretty quiet...just enjoying it. When we got back to our cars we would usually spend our time chatting about random things sometimes for over an hour. I REALLY miss running with friends!

3. I miss how I felt about myself. I felt a since accomplishment after a good long run. It might not have been exactly what I wanted to do when I left the house, but I wouldn't trade the way I feel about myself when I get home from a good workout for just about anything. Right now I feel blah.

Now for my randoms...

1. I was watching Days of Our Lives yesterday and was really disturbed by the fact that none of the girls hair moved. I'm pretty sure they could jump in the car, top down with the wind blowing in their hair....but it still wouldn't budge an inch. What in the world to they put in their hair to get it to stay so perfect? I can't believe I just admitted I watch that show. Especially since another persons memory just got erased and people from the dead are coming back. ahhh.

2. Sara and I went to eat for her birthday last night (in between her running 5 miles, going to spin AND playing soccer). We ate Jason's Deli for the 28932 time in the last month because were obsessed. I think it went a little like this...
"Happy Birthday Sara! Now, can you please carry my salad bar tray and get me a drink? Thanks!"

3. I have been teaching symmetry at school. EVERYTHING I look at now I try to figure out if it is symmetrical. HELP.

HAPPY Thursday and a big HECK YES for Grey's being back tonight!!!

I promise I'm working on my negative nancy attitude.

Did you know there are CHOCOLATE Lucky Charms?

What's your favorite thing to pack for lunch?
Sandwich. It's quick and easy.

I don't even know.

My scooter is in the repair shop. Hopefully it will be back in action soon.
Notice the grease spots on the black paper? Gotta LOVE my kiddos leaning their heads up against in when they get to work in the floor. ha.

When I rolled in Monday morning on my scooter I got laughed and pointed at. 3rd, 4th and 5th grade all come in the door right beside my room and I might have caused a riot. OOPS.
I heard things from the kids like...
"What thaaaaaa..."
"Ms. Wilson...you is CRAZY."
"Is you gonna let me ride dat."
"Ms. Wilson!!! Yo armpits wont hurt no mo from them crunches."
crunches. Really? I think you mean CRUTCHES, sweetheart.

And the other teachers laughed at me.
I think it's really just because they're jealous and wanted a ride. : )

I feel so blah not being able to get my cardio in. Seriously, my body feels completely out of wack. Any suggestions on things I can do to feel like I got a good workout???
I know my Spoon or Fork question yesterday seemed random and Stephanie @ theAlmostrunner thought so, too. I had leftover Five Cheese Ziti from Olive Garden for lunch and all I had was a spoon when I really needed a fork.
Did anyone else feel like busting out with a little Alanis?

Today is my BFF Sara's Birthday!!!!!
Sara was the first friend I made when I transferred to LCU. We both slid in on the back row and tried to go unnoticed.
I'm not really sure how well that worked out.

We had several classes together but it was probably a year later when I finally gave in to the fact that someone might ALMOST be as cool as me and hung out with her outside of school.
We trained and ran our first half together.
Played soccer together..
Grab dinner together regularly.
No, Mom, we don't always eat like this.
Act like big dorks together..
Talk about anything and everything...
AND she introduced me to THE best.friends.ever.
Even though she gets a little crazy sometimes...
...I'm so thankful that she lets me talk her ear off and tag along all the time.
**HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARA!!!**

Workout suggestions?!?

Are you still good friends with your good friends from college?

Lemonade or Tea?
I usually go with sweet tea, but I must have dreamed about lemonade last night because I woke up craving lemonade. You better believe I picked one up on my way to work this morning. Gotta start my day off right.

Brace yourself.

I have sad news.
The Scooter ate dirt.
Kicked rocks.
Bit the dust.
decided my McDonalds sausage biscuit put me over the top and gave out.

You read that right. I was zooming down the hall yesterday and the wheel kinda did this funky turn and came off.
CRAAAAP.
I really wish I had a picture...but I didn't think about it then.
My dad saved the day and brought me parts to fix it.
He didn't bring me the reflector. It was already on the scooter and I knocked it off when I got it out of my car today. Whoops!
SAFETY FIRST!
I would hate to be zooming down the street on that speed racer AT NIGHT, and someone not see me. I'm not ready to be road kill.
I'm going to play scooter mechanic and try to get it going again. Fingers crossed that it works. The hall seems 56 times longer when I'm crutching it then when I'm walking so I gotta get that sucker up and scootin'.
holy.hick.talk

Over the last week and a half, I have found some pros and cons of the boot/crutches.

PRO
I can talk my kids in to doing just about anything for me at school.

CON
I asked one of them to hand me a drink that was literally 3 inches from my fingers. LAZY
______________________________

PRO
They are money savers!! I REALLY want a pedicure, but I'm not paying to just get one foot rubbed.
I guess that's kinda backwards since it emptied my piggy bank to pay for all this mess.

CON
My feet might get crusty. ewww.
______________________________

PRO
My mom went grocery shopping with me so I didn't have to ride one of the grocery store motor scooters.

CON
I left the refrigerated stuff in my mom's fridge.
&
I had to HOP on my left foot while carrying my bags in to the house because I couldn't make it work with the crutches.
It was gorgeous outside and ALL of my neighbors were out. They all just sat back and watched the freak show.
______________________________

PRO
It's hard to vacuum or mow my yard...so I haven't.

CON
I REALLY REALLY need to. ughhhhh.
______________________________
Let's just say I would rather clean the toilet, do my laundry, run 28.2 miles "accidentally", carry in my groceries, have man calves, get things for myself and miss out on the scooter rides if that means I am out of this foot mess.

I know I said no more countdowns, but I go back to the doctor in 15 days.
Come on April 5th!!!!

Real Housewives of OC or Pretty Little Liars?
I'm not going to lie...the season finale of PLL kinda creeped me out last night. Yes, I'm still 16 and watch ABC Family all the time.

Fork or Spoon?
fork.

Rap or Country?
Depends on the mood I'm in. Most of the time rap/r&b/pop.

Adios Spring Break

Spring Break is over and I'm back at work. I'm sad to see it end, but I'm SO excited to see my sweet kiddos and ride my scooter.

The beginning of my break started out with this...
Minus the long sleeves and scarf since it has been in the 80's here!

Then ended up a little more like this....

1. Hung out with all of my friends. Yep, that's all of them!
2. Stayed glued to the TV watching basketball.
Bracket=Busted
3. Got excited when Duke won.
4. Dreamed of ice cream.
5. Worked at Radio Shack

6. Took pictures of random things.
7. Tried to remember what running was like.
8. Started to freak out because my right calf is slowly fading away from lack of use.

9. Slept. You don't need a picture of that. I'm NOT a cute sleeper. You're welcome.

That's seriously all I did. I know it's 9 things, but that's 9 things that = ZERO productivity.
Go Danielle!

I was supposed to go with Sara to San Antonio for Chelsey's Bachelorette party, but I decided not to go because of my foot. Lame excuse, I know. But, we were going to be staying at the Riverwalk during the Spring Break craziness and doing lots of walking.
Lots of walking + Crutches = unhappy armpits
Who wants to hear me complain about that?
Didn't think so.
I'm REALLY sad I didn't get to go, but I'm so glad they all had so much fun.

I know I didn't do much and it might sound really boring, but it was just what I needed. These next 5-6 weeks at school are going to be crazy stressful preparing for state standardized testing and all of the fun things that go along with it. I needed a break to relax and do nothing, and that's exactly what I did.

PS. Texas Tech hired a new basketball coach yesterday.
Thank goodness.

How was your weekend?

Are you tired of pictures of ME yet?
Sister...that question is NOT for you.

Do you listen to anything in the mornings when you get ready?
I listen to Kidd Kraddick, or crank up something with a fast beat that will get me going.

fill.in.the.blank.friday. & a WINNER!

Thanks Lauren @ thelittlethingswedo

1. The best deal I've ever gotten is...I got free tickets to a Kenny Chesney/Sugarland concert, but there were 2 rows from the top of the arena. Yep, I was in the nose bleed section. There was no complaining from me because the were F R E E. My friend, Amber, and I were running late and we didn't want to miss Sugarland. After we found a parking spot, which seemed like 10 miles away, we started running to get to the Arena. As we were walking up, a guy asked if we wanted a free FRONT ROW ticket. Uhh, let me think about that. YES! But, he only had one. So, we decided we would take turns. Well, Amber went down first and came right back up a few minutes later with the other guys ticket. There was an empty seat beside them, so I sat there until someone else showed up. Oh wait, they never showed up! SWEEEEEET! Front row tickets to a concert I didn't pay for.

2. If I were hosting a dinner party and could invite people from my fantasy guest list it would include I'm probably about to embarrass myself of this one...but, Justin Timberlake. Duh. Even though I hear he's a punk. Pink. I just love her. Dwayne Wade and JJ Redick. Josh Duhamel. Channing Tatum. Bruno Mars (without his special package he got in trouble for in Vegas) I think I'm going to stop there. Please don't judge me? : )

3. Something that inspires me is my kiddos at school. They make me want to be a better person.

4. If I could only choose to eat one flavor of food for the rest of eternity (sweet, salty, spicy, bitter....) I would have to go with salty. Mexican food is super salty and I'm pretty sure I could eat it for every meal the rest of my life.

5. I dream about usually nothing, except the last 2 nights I have been having really scary dreams that someone is trying to attack me, but I hit them with my crutch and got away. The crutches are a pain in the butt, but I guess they might come in handy?!?

6. My weekend will be spent watching basketball. Just in case you haven't noticed, March Madness is my favorite!!

7. If I could only watch one movie or TV show for the rest of my life, it would be One Tree Hill or CSI. I know they are nothing alike, but I really like both of the shows and could watch an episode over and over. Maybe that's because I can't ever remember exactly what happens in the show even after I just watched it.

And the winner is....
Maia, email me your mailing info to MissRedRunner (at) gmail (dot) com and I'll send it out as soon as I get your info!

What are your weekend plans?
BASKETBALL. Enough said.

What famous celebs would YOU invite to a dinner party!??
Please answer this so I don't feel like a big weirdo for my choices. Yes, I'm asking you to make me feel better about myself. :)

Be Prepared...

...to be jealous.
You better believe that's my new ride.

A family friend came in the store this morning and laughed when he saw me on crutches. He told me they were the VCR of electronics. OLD. He showed up about 45 minutes later with this scooter thing. I know...I look like a HUGE dork. I wont use it all the time, but it will come in handy next week when I go back to school. Using those crutches to get from one end of the building to the other was killing me. Plus, my kids will think it's way cool -- and since my goal in life is to be accepted by 10 year olds I should be good. : )
People who use crutches all the time are my heroes.

Thank you guys SO much for all of your support!! Hopefully I will be done with this soon!

Dreams DO come true...

...but I forgot to tell the dream fairy that this wasn't exactly the dream I wanted to come true.

When I was younger, I used to think that being on crutches was the coolest thing ever. My grandparents had crutches at their house and I would spend the day swinging on the crutches, hopping around and pretending like I broke my foot. I remember being so jealous of one of my friends because she broke her foot and had to wear a boot. I might have even begged my mom to let me rent crutches from CVS so I could play on them at home.

WHAT WAS I THINKING???

Fast Forward 15-20 years later, and my dream has come true. I went back to the Doctor today, and I broke the navicular bone in my foot.

 Bummer.

This is the way the doctor described it...
If you take a coat hanger and bend it back and forth it will get hot right before it breaks in half. My navicular bone is VERY hot. He said he isn't really sure how I was walking on it with the boot on without a ton of pain, but if it breaks all the way through, I have to have pins put in it.

NO THANK YOU.

So, for the next few weeks, I'm going to being crutching around or maybe even hopping on one foot, so I don't make it worse. Don't these people know my kids at TAKS in a month? I don't have time to mess around. The boot, crutches and I are going to form a loving relationship for at least the next 3 weeks, then I'll go back to the doctor and see how it's healing.

I'm a little bit bummed that I'm still fighting this battle, but I'm glad that I finally know what's going on so we can get this fixed, and I know the rest of my life wont be spent like this...
Even though some days it's REALLY nice.

Now for the important stuff...

Bachelor Finale!!!!!
1. I shouldn't have been surprised that he picked Emily, but I was. She was sweet and all...but I liked Chantal.

2. After the Rose was strange, but I was glad they didn't put on the "everything is perfect" face, only to announce that they are breaking up 2 weeks later.

3. I got to hang out with these girls...
while Tayler sniff some peanut butter.
Yes, I'm still her friend.

Don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY for a chance at this...

PS...Stephanie went WAY over her 111. Pretty sure I have some fabulous followers, and I'm sure she will have a giveaway that I will win. If you aren't following her yet...do it. NOW.
You should probably check out Alyssa, too. She's running a MARATHON in Virginia Beach this weekend!! Go stalk her show her some support!!!
